Macintosh
A model of computer introduced by Apple Computer in 1984. The Apple Macintosh was the first popular computer to feature a graphical user interface (GUI) that utilizes windows, icons, and a mouse to make it relatively easy for novices to use the computer productively. Rather than learning a complex set of commands, you need only point to a selection on a menu and click a mouse button. Moreover, the GUI is embedded into the operating system. This means that all applications that run on a Macintosh computer have a similar user interface. Once a user has become familiar with one application, he or she can learn new applications relatively easily. The Microsoft Windows interface copies many features from the Macintosh. There are many different Macintosh models, with varying degrees of speed and power. All models are available in many different configurations. All models since 1994 are based on the PowerPC microprocessor.

Modules
Modules are parts of a larger computer program that are not combined until the program is linked. A single module can contain one or more routines.

Multimedia
Using of computers to integrate text, graphics, video, animation, and sound. Until the mid 1990's multimedia applications were uncommon due to the expensive hardware required. With increases in PC performance and decreases in price multimedia is now common. Nearly all modern Personal Computers are capable of displaying multimedia video, though the resolution available depends on the power of the computer's video adapter and CPU.
